It also helps us over come the stumbling blocks we place in front of our own success. As a result we end up doing more then working our lives away at some job but also allowing us to enjoy a career that matches what we are here to do.
I have read ad listened to many programs designed to help motivate you to your path in life. They all helped in the beginning it was at the moment life stalled and I just did not have the energy to go on where Mr. Miller showed how different he was from the rest of the pack. Because of him, I carry around a picture of a donkey with me when I am too tired to go on. Simple tricks like this one help you over the rough patches. Everyone else I fear just assumes that rough patches will not occur once you find your path. How did you get interested in writing?

In the sixth grade, my wonderful teacher would pull up a stool each day and read to us from the most imaginative books. I gradually began to realize that I wanted not only to enjoy the stories someone else had written, but to be the person who gave others the kind of pleasure I received from good books. That year, I penned—er, penciled my first novel, a perfectly horrible mystery tale. Not a word of the story exists today, and the world is grateful.

I’ve been writing in one capacity or another ever since, but only in 2005, with my first book contract, did I see the fulfillment of my dream to become a novelist. I turn fifty next month, and am living testimony that God is faithful to bring to pass the dreams He puts in a person’s heart. But He does it in His way and in His timing. I’m quite certain I wasn’t ready to handle the demands of the occupation prior to this. Besides, raising my four children had to come first.

2. How do you fit writing into your day?

In order to accomplish what must be done, meet deadlines, etc., writing must be a part of every day. Consistency wins the battle. Some days I write more than others, but I’m always writing. Since I work a full time job outside the home, I do most of my writing in the evenings and on weekends.

3. How do you deal with writer’s block?

Prayer! When I can’t see the road ahead, I need God’s wisdom to see what has dammed up the creativity. Sometimes I need to make a change in the story line, or I need to see something about a character that I’ve not realized before and incorporate that into the story. Fellowshipping with my Best Friend and asking His advice gets me to the place where I can “see” where I’m missing it. When writing under a deadline, writer’s block is not an option to indulge, so there have been times when I’ve hit my knees quite desperately.

4. If you had to give advice on writing, what would it be?

Write. Write. Write. Persevere. Persevere. Persevere. You don’t fail until you quit.

5. What are you working on now?

I just turned in a proposal to my current publisher for a new book, and I’m working on a separate proposal for a different publisher. Both of the proposals are for romantic suspense. At this point in my career, it’s important for me to stick with one genre and build name recognition to a certain readership.

Forbidden Temption

Forbidden Temptation
Paula Graves
June 2007
Romance Mystery
www.eharlequin.com , www.paulagraves.com
Daniel Hartman was a man on a mission. From as far back as I can remember I've lived inside my imagination I was always the daydreamer at school, off on my own adventures. In my early teens my imagination filtered to paper and my passion for writing blossmed from there.

2 How do you fit writig into your every day life? It's definately a juggle at times, with a full time job and a family to look after I find most of my quiet time late at night after the house is quiet. I try to dedicate at least an hour a day to my hobby but mostly I'm stealing moments wherever I can.

3 How do you deal with writers Block? Writer's block is something I've always had to fight with. In my youth, more often than not, I would abandon a story, now I've learned to step away from it to let my imagination play with for a while. I also usually have more than one project going at a time, this also keeps me from getting bogged down and my mind active and creative.

4 A lot of avid readers want to try their hand at writing. Do you have advice for them ? Don't give up and don't be afraid to take a chance, if you have the passion for your craft then you can see it flourish. In my case of self-publishing, it takes a massive amount of dedication for all aspects of publication, from editing and cover art to marketing and promotional work. A thick skin to buffer rejections helps too, it's a very competative field and there are thousands of books being released weekly.

5 What are you working on now and what can we hope to see next from you ? I'm currently working on The Prophecy and an un-named project. At this time I am anticipating The Prophecy to be my next release, that is, unless another set of characters takes creative control of the pen.

Reluctant Burglar: Book 1 in the To Catch a Thief seris

Reluctant Burglar: Book 1 in the To Catch a Thief series
Jill Elizabeth Nelson
Currently available
Romance, Mystery Crime
http://www.jillelizabethnelson.com
Do you really know the people around you ? Apparently, there's also a gang out there somewhere that thinks she has what belongs to them. All this because she decided to prove to her dad that she could help him run the business as his partner.
This book was amazing. It discusses God and Faith without preaching. It is the perfect mystery novel. It has a sweet and romantic sensibility to it. She has become fixated on capturing this killer so he can not cause any more grief then he already has. The trail has gone cold until the killings begin again in the USA. Once she gets herself assigned to the team as a liaison from Scotland Yard she thinks she is home free. That is until two things happen that complicate her search and her life. The first one is Dean Colby. The sparks that fly when these two are in a room together are undeniable and the second minor complication to her life is that some where along the way the killer has become as fixated on her as she has on him.
I have to admit that I was worried about reading Flowers For Emily. Ms. Vance had captured my heart with her first book and I was worried that her latest couldn't live up to my high expectations. Two pages into this book I realized I had nothing to fear. Ms Vance once again created a world and characters that are electrifying and I couldn't stop reading until the last page. If she keeps this up I may never need to diet again. This book is a definite must own and a true keeper congratulations Ms Vance you've done it yet again.

The Third Son by TL Vance

The Third Son
by T.L. First, sheis beautiful. Second, she's actually smart. And third, she actually fits in better with his friends then his best fried ever did. And so begins the bid to spend asmuch time with her as possible before his best friend returns and breaks her heart.

Before I read this book I never knew exactly what a beach read was. Well this is it, pack a lunch and possibly a dinner because you won't want to leave this book even to eat. Addicting isn't even the word for this book. There may be no words to describe this book. Ms. Vance does something with this book that I think most romance author's forget to do, she builds complete charactors. There are no characters in this story that are underdeveloped or standard for theromance genre.
I strongly recommend this book to everyone even if romance is something you usually read or not. I am joining the others who have read this book and I'm hoping for a sequal.

Angelos Robina Williams

Angelos by Robina Williams
05-25-2005 -- Young Adult
This book is for sale on Amazon.com and local Barnes and Noble stores
$16.95 paperback
http://www.twilighttimesbooks.com/
http://www.robinawilliams.com/

This is another thrilling adventure of Brother Jerome and his friend Leo the friary cat. If you have not met these two, let me introduce you. Brother Jerome isa recently deceased friar who still visits his old home to check up on his friends. Leo is the friary cat. He is more then he seems. In fact, Leo is a quantum cat,a cat that is alive and dead at the same time. Because of this, Leo or Quaint as he is sometimes known serves as Father Jerome's guide and guardian in all his afterlife adventures.
Back at the friary, things are not going well either. The brothers have a new guardian Aidan, who has the reputation of being easy going. When he arrives, they discover he has changed. He is now very strict and rule abiding, something that that they are not. How will the brothers survive this unexpected change?
What does Brother Jerome learn on his adventures through Greece?

I love this book. I was ready to go out and buy itand the other books in this series the minute Ifinished this one. I strongly recommend this book for everyone. The author's ability to blend serious religious topics, art and fantasy together is something I have not seen since my last trip to Narnia.

So if you love that series or you miss MiddleEarth or it has been a while since you have seen the inside of Hogwarts do yourself a favor and try these books.

This is especially true now that the Harry Potter books are coming to an end. Ms Williams is a wonderful writer who has never let her readers down. I can not wait until her third book comes out.

The Quantum Cat Books- Book 1

Jerome and The Seraph by Robina Williams
http://www.robinawilliams.com/
Publisher: Twilight Times Books
http://www.twilighttimesbooks.com/
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy / Literary Fantasy
Available now at Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Barnes & Noble, Borders and local bookstores.
List Price: $ 15.50 US/ $20.50 Can
Brother Jerome’s death was unexpected. The afterlife is not all it is cracked up to be either. In short, Brother Jerome is bored so he is more then happy to learn a new skill from his old friend Leo the friary cat. However, here Leo goes by the name Quantum and is no one’s pet.
Life back at the friary has gone on much the same as always. Leo is still fed scraps much to the dismay of the Guardian of the house. Speaking of the Guardian the brothers are beginning to wonder why he is spending so much time helping their new neighbor settle in. Honestly, this is not the best time to be dealing with the surprise visits of Brother Jerome as he pops in to check on his old friends. What is the Guardian doing at the neighbor’s house all this time? Will Brother Jerome ever master the ability to pop in unaided?
I loved this book too. The first book about Quantum the cat this book had me chucking in shared embarrassment as Brother Jerome discovers his new ability. I laughed aloud when Brother Jerome would yell at that darn cat, as Quant would disappear chuckling over Brother Jerome’s latest missed landing. I would end up sighing over the obvious affection shared by these two.

Welcome

This is the first post on this blog.
